Since
it went on line, the InCom-UAB Communication Portal has become
the go-between and reference point on the Internet for all persons
interested in studies on media, the information society and information
and communication technologies (ICTs), as well as their effects
and influences on the social organisation.
In its two language versions, Catalan
and Spanish,
the InCom-UAB Communication Portal addresses four major objectives:
a. To select and systematise the information available
on the Internet with respect to communication. It offers
links with the web sites and contents that are considered of the
greatest interest: 3,000 selected and commented links in the section
Online Resources on
Communication, as well as texts
and online interviews,
new publications
and an agenda of activities (Congresses
and Symposia)
b. To offer self-produced contents which have been developed
with the participation of experts from diverse Spanish and Latin
American universities, such as the lessons of the Portal,
the interviews, the book reviews, and the production of the Portal's
three Observatories (Communication
Policies, Local
Communication, and Communication
and Health) and of the associated Chairs (UNESCO
Communication Chair and International
Chair of Olympism).
c. To act as a meeting point and a place for the exchange
of ideas between scholars who share identical or similar intellectual
interests, always within the scope of communication research.
d. To foster research in communication sciences and to
promote collaboration between the university world and the professional
world. By its nature, the Portal allows the dissemination
of knowledge and the exchange of ideas between professional sectors
and the university research in communication.
Do not hesitate to contact us
if you have any questions. Likewise, we would appreciate it if
you would inform us of activities or publications that may be
of interest for the Portal.
With your collaboration we can achieve our goal: to maintain the
InCom-UAB
Communication Portal as a tool of reference and support for
the research and teaching community involved in the various aspects
of communication. |
